Embry-Riddle Worldwide has established the first virtual chapter of Women in Aviation International (WAI).
The chapter - which was granted provisional status earlier this month - currently has more than 20 members who represent students, faculty and staff from all three colleges, Worldwide Headquarters and the Asia Campus.
In the coming months, the group will continue to organize itself and develop plans to support projects such as regional Girls in Aviation Day events and air shows. Chapter officers will also be participating in next month's 27th Annual International Women in Aviation Conference in Nashville.
According to WAI, the Embry-Riddle Worldwide chapter is one of 36 WAI college and university chapters. Overall, the organization has more than 12,600 active members participating in 100 chapters in 64 countries around the globe.
